Vesham an eagerly awaited Mammotty film will release on 24th December. After the waves created by Kazha this is another movie that looks all set to strike a chord with family audiences. With Balettan fame director V.M Vinu teaming up with acclaimed producer Swargachitra Appachan this film is guaranteed to touch the viewer’s heart. Though the story has nothing new to offer (you could say it’s another vaaltsalayam) it is how they are going to present it is what is there to watch out for.
Appu (Mammotty) is a person who as a young boy left school so that he can help his father Pappan (Innocent) to earn a living for his family. When his mother died he looked after his young brother and sister like a mother. He and his father together build Leela Groups which became one of the most successful business groups in kerala. It was Appu’s dream to give his brother Hari (Indrajith) all what he did get as a young man. So he sent him to England to study M.B.A.But when he came back and started working in their own company he couldn’t adjust to his brother’s old views and ideas, they had their differences and they started to drift apart.
Things became more complicated when smart and attractive Veni Nair (Sindhu Menon) started working in the company. In her Hari found someone whom he could share his ideas. Pappan, Appu’s wife Aswathi (Mohini) and Hari’s wife Revathy (Gopika) where the one’s who suffered between these two.
There is nothing new in this story written by T.A Razzaq (the story of Jayaram’s Amritham is uncannily similar to this one). But it is the combination of Mammotty, V.M Vinu and Swargachitra Appachan is what makes this project interesting. Also after Manasinakkare Innocent plays another role as a father with substance. Indrajith once again plays a young brother but this in this time his character is meatier as it has different shades. This is Mohini’s come back film after she got married four years ago and settled in U.S. This is her third film with Mammotty, first two being Sainyam and Oru Maravathoor Kanavu. It is an opportunity for Gopika to score in her home ground after she became very successful in both Tamil and Telugu. She had to turn down big offers like Rasikan and Amritham because she was busy in other languages. Jagathy plays a trusted employee’s role. Devi Chanda plays Mammotty’s sister. Other important actors are Saikumar, Rias Khan, Kochin Haneefa, Augstin, and. Music is by Tamil’s hit music composer S.A Rajkumar , Gereesh Puthencheri pens the lyrics & Camera by Shaji |
