30/10/06:- ‘Palunku’, starring Mammootty tells the story of a farmer who loves being one. He himself is uneducated but dreams of his children reaching good status through good education, and in order to fulfill this ambition, he is even ready to migrate to the city, leaving behind his native land and the only way he had ever known to make a living. Rest of story is about setbacks he encounters in the alien urban society.
‘Palunku’ is Blessy’s third outing as a director and second film with Mammootty. The film essentially tells the story of the peril of farmers. Apart from few established actors, Blessy once again relies on newcomers. Blessy introduces a Kannada actress Lakshmi Sharma through the film. It is shot at Thodupuzha and Muvattupuzha.
