‘Kayyopu’ is the story of Balachandran who works in a fertiliser shop. An avid reader of books, his dream is to be a writer and occasionally writes poems and short stories and on writing his first novel, finds himself in a sort of mental block that most writers get into. With the help of his old college-mate Padma, he gets around the problem only to realize that he lost his innate talent as a writer.
‘Kaiyoppu’ is Renjith’s contribution to meaningful cinema. He has made the film minus all the gimmicks that we usually associate with all his directorial ventures. What more, he is ready to take the risk of being the producer of the film.
Mammootty gave 15 days for the film and is accepting no money for working in it. After her brief appearance in ‘Chandrotsavam’, Kushbu is coming back to Malayalam through this film. Noted Tv comedian Jaffer Idukki will also be seen in the film. Mukesh plays the role of the owner of a publication who tries to lure Balachandran into publishing his book. Nedumudi Venu plays the character of renowned writer C.P Vasudevan, who come to read Balachandran’s unfinished novel and discovers his talent.
The film was censored by the end of last year, and it is likely to release on the last of January. |
