India successfully test fired the two Astra air-to-air missiles from its Integrated Test Range (ITR) off the Orissa coast at Balasore on 11th January, 2010. The two missiles were tested at 0945hrs IST and 1206hrs IST.
The Astra is an active radar homing Beyond visual range air to air missile (BVRAAM) developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India. An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale was observed today at 1.20am, having its core at Hindu Kush region, Afghanistan.  The earthquake had its effect well enough to make the people to fear and undergo preventive measures to avoid the seismic effects.
 India Meteorological Department has reported that the earthquake occurred in the region with the epicenter at 36.5N Latitude and 71.0 E Longitude. They also told that there were no seismic damages observed in the region but only a slight temblor was felt by many civilians.
