Tata has unveiled its ‘Aria’ today at the Auto Expo 2010. Ario is a crossover between a SUV and a multi-utility vehicle. It is made especially for India by the Indian engineers. At the Auto expo today the Tata group Chairman Mr Ratan Tata said “My memory goes 20 years back when we were a truck manufacturer.

This is the venue where we introduced Indica and became a passenger car manufacturer. “Two years back, we also introduced Nano, the world’s cheapest car, here. Today, we are showcasing a whole variety of products. Apart from Aria, there will be products from Jaguar, series of buses and a new world truck, new alternate fuel vehicles and electric vehicles.” He also said that the company is keen in making eco friendly cars by following the emission norms and safety issues strictly. Tata also have queued some more SUV’s like Safari and Sumo Grande.

Tata makes indians proud again and again. aria looks a damn good car. but still intrested know whether it is a tata engine and ALSO THE EXPECTED PRICE.

The car appeares to be a perfect MPV. Tatas have done a great job. Only speculation left is the pricing of the car. i hope the price is less than Innova because Tata is famous for selling its cars at a much cheaper rates than its competetors. I would be one of the first persons to buy the vehicle if the price is good.

Aria has the 14o Bhp engine the safari dicor uses now which did’nt go well with it bcos 1. the weight of the safari is close to half a ton more than say the scorpio mhawk (which uses the same engine in a 120 bhp guise)
2) the truckmaker screwed up by giving the safari a bad gearbox .added up the the scorpio out performs the safari in a straight line though it has a smaller version of the same engine. To sum up the engine is potent. tata has borrowed a lot of the interior design from land rover so it should reflect quality. space is the factor this segment attacks and tatas have always been spacious, always good suspensions and the safari platform will be wonderful . the gearbox is going to be the Achilles heel unless they give it the Manza treatment (vista uses an in house gearbox while manza borrows the lineas) . the price should be at around 14+ and will ,like all tatas ,take on the higher segment which is occupied by the endeavor and fortuner or the captiva crv duels . unless land rover has something to say about it tata can not practically make a car that drives as well as a crv forget an suv (some thing about the way tata attacks its flaws and competition tells me i’l be wronged).as far as looks go,got just one word for it scorching. All the makings of a deserving best seller and the potential to enthrall the market for a long time
