The shooting of the film Pokkiri Raja has begun and is scheduled to be completed in 65 days. The film has superstar Mammootty and Prithviraj in lead roles.

Earlier it was said that Naraen will don Prithviraj’s role but then changed. The story is about two brothers whose father is a school teacher. One of the brothers runs away and becomes a dada in city while the other one becomes a local dada. They had to meet at one time but as rivals without being aware that they are brothers.

Vyshakh directs his first film and is produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam. Udhay Krishna and Sibi K.Thomas have penned down the script. Shriya Saran, Nedumudi Venu, Thilakan, Siddique, Innocent, Saikumar,  Sooraj Venjaranmoodu and Salimkumar are also in the cast.
