Neelathamara is a remake of the old classic movie Neelathamara which tells the story of people who live in Kizhakumbattu, an ancestral home in a village. The movie is directed by the hit maker director Lal Jose and is produced by G.Suresh Kumar under the banner of Revathy Kalamandir.

 Music played a big part in the success of the old version and the new version has lyrics by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma and music direction by Vidyasagar. The old movie was based on a script by renowned script writer and author M.T. Vasudevan Nair. The script for the new movie too is written by M.T. Vasudevan Nair to suit the present society’s views. Rumors have it that it was M.T who suggested the name of  Lal Jose for the project as he was impressed by his style.

The new movie has Archana, a Delhi based Malayali girl playing the role of Kunjimalu which was played by the famous South Indian Actress Ambika. The role of Haridas is played by Kalesh which was earlier played by Ravi Kumar while Appukuttan’s role is played by Ambika’s brother Suresh. Sharathu Ammini’s role is essayed by Rima Kallingal and Ratnam’s role is played by Samvrutha Sunil. The camera is handled by Vijay Ulaganath and one of Malayalam industy’s talented editors Ranjan Abraham does the editing for the new movie. The new movie with its perfect blend of young talent and M.T’s powerful script offers a lot to the movie buffs in the coming days.
