After a long gap of 16 years, Suresh Gopi and Mohanlal have joined once again for the film “Janakan”. This film is directed by the debutant R Sanjiv. The film is categorized under the genre ‘family thriller’.
 Mohanlal is needed to play a pivoted role in the film Janakan though he is not present in the entire film. He has only twenty minutes in the whole movie but the most important segment of the film. Mohanlal plays an advocate role while Suresh Gopi plays a normal villager with a family and friends. Kaveri comes as the wife to Suresh Gopi and their daughter character is been played by the newcomer Priya. Biju Menon and Harisiri Asokan have played the roles as friends to Suresh Gopi.
Viswanathan and his friends get involved in a murder due to some unavoidable circumstances and they need to prove themselves innocent. Here comes the brilliant criminal lawyer, Suriyanarayanan. Suresh Gopi comes as Viswananthan and Mohanlal has acted as advocate Suriyanarayanan.
The film is made under the banners of Line of Color Production. M Jayachandran has made the music for the words of Giresh Puthencerry. Sukumar handles the cinematography.Â
