Gul Panag was born on January 3, 1979 in Chandigarh, India. Her father Lieutenant General H S Panag is the Army Commander, Central Command. Her younger brother Sherbir Singh is a nationally ranked Skeet shooter. Gul Panag got her Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Punjabi University, Patiala and Master degree in Political Science from Punjab University, Chandigarh. She has also participated in Miss Universe contest. She appeared on the front page of Maxim in September 2008. She is the brand ambassador for Tata Sky and for Titan watches.
