Arya menon was born in a Malayali family and completed her schooling from different places like Ooty, Kodaikanal and Bangalore. She was a Mass Communication student and it was then the offer for doing a small part in Chak de India came her way. She acted as one of the girls in the movie which was one of the biggest hits of 2007. Though her supporting role as Gul Iqbal in Chak De had only few scenes, she was noticed by many in the industry and it has given her the lead role in an upcoming telugu movie opposite Shashank.
